First Security Bank – Catlin Plaza Project

First Security Bank is in the process of renovating Catlin Plaza on the corners of Wyoming and Catlin.  The plaza is located in a bustling part of Midtown near Bayern Brewing, Westside Lanes, and Black Coffee Roasting Company. Construction is well underway and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2012.

Community Medical Unveils New Wing

Community Medical Center finished its brand new Women’s and Newborn Center this month. The $10 million addition includes 18 private suites equipped with private bathrooms and furniture, including a pull out sofa bed for dad.  There are more computer work stations for staff, as Community will switch to an electronic medical system in September 2012.  At the end of the wing is the fireside chat room – deemed the best room in the hospital – to welcome extended families to come meet newborns. Three focus groups that included moms, patients, and the best architects and engineers, helped design the space.  With three concepts in mind – nature, design, and lighting – they filled the new wing with plenty of colors and artwork. The $7 million, second phase of the Women’s and Newborn Center includes the renovation of the labor and delivery rooms.  The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Elbow RoomThe newly redesigned Elbow Room opens December 23 on the corner of Stephens and Kensington Avenues. The 9,368-square-foot space includes a casino, restaurant, and sports bar with 52 widescreen televisions, a game room, and open patio seating.  An Events Center is also in the works for 2012. Owner and manager, Josh Paffhausen hopes to fill the Crimson Events Center with concerts, banquets, weddings, and other events. Crimson Event CenterWe're happy to see a Midtown business owner contributing to the aesthetics that make Midtown an attractive place to be; the new building will be a welcome addition to the section of town that’s known more for its offices and warehouses.  Once the project is completed, we think we’ll see a boost to Midtown’s entertainment scene, helping to foster an impression of Midtown as a fun and desirable place to spend an evening. A great new venue with much potential for the area. Check out this article from the Missoulian for more information.
